Empanadillas de pollo

Empanadilla de Pollo

This delicious snack which has many names example, pastelitos, empanadillas, empanadas, and so many more is very common in many Spanish cultures. Everyone has its own style in making these and many people stuff these with different meats. Some people like my family stuff these with Guayaba and cheese which makes them super sweet or super cheesy. Then there are the different meats in which we can stuff them with example Shrimp, ground beef, corn beef, and chicken, ham and cheese, Peperoni and cheese and so many more. If you are walking in the streets of Boston and you waiting for the bus and you want a warm snack you can go into any Spanish or just any corner store and ask them for a pastelito they will cost a dollar and it's a great snack. You will find them anywhere in Boston, and this is what's so great about them anybody can do these.
My husband adores these and he asked me to make him some BBQ, ones in which where fun to make. When I cook stuff like these, I always love to share them there a great snack for when you have friends over. I will admit I love making these but I love my mom's better her beef ones are out of this world she makes them with beef eggs and cheese and they taste ridiculously good. Depending on the culture people eat them differently and stuffed them different my friends which are Dominicans add ketchup to their pastelitos while I add hot sauce and my mom adds duck sauce from the Chinese restaurant. My step father is Mexican and he makes his own tortilla and the inside is stuff with steak and chicken.

Different culture different ways of making them and eating them. I love sharing them with my family and being able to hear from them that they taste good is a great compliment.

Best,
