Tembleque

 Tembleque

We Boricuas love Ajo, coconut, and Christmas, The next plate of food we will be talking about is a food that I am not a fan of but it brings many nice memories of my childhood in Puerto Rico. There was an event in schools all around Puerto Rico where many cultural foods while be brought to tables, for example, tainos or typical plates of food towards cultural then everybody will dress in our cultural hibaritos outfits then there was this table in which you were allowed to grab two snacks in witch where typical towards Puerto Rico This was called temblueque.
Tembleque is the version of coquito but in a dessert, Tembleque is translated as a coconut pudding when we celebrated our culture was the first time I learned what tembleque was it was not my favorite but I believe its important towards one culture. When you hear Christmas or holidays in Puerto Rico the First thing one can think of it would be the food that comes with the festivities from Arroz con Gandules, Pernil, coquito, pasteles en hoja, tembleque and so much more.  My aunt for thanksgiving day made us tembleuque and like I said I am not a fan but it is surprising and nice to see my daughters loving this dish is exciting because it like Spanish people say that the blood runs thick and it's very true for me and my daughters it's nice to see how much of Puerto Rico thy love without even going.
When I think of who I have shared this experience with I think of my daughters and my family, family is important and mostly within my culture. This Saturday Since is my 24th birthday my family will be sharing this dessert  but overall they will also be teaching my daughters about there culture through food so in march I could show them where there roots will begings and ends.

Best,
