Arroz con dulce
Arroz con Dulce
Arroz con dulce is one of my grandmother's most requested desserts during the holidays, I remember her making Arroz con dulce and it felt like she was making it for the whole block. Whenever my grandmother made Arroz con dulce The whole house smelled like it, and all the people from the neighborhood had a plate of Arroz con dulce before it was even made. When Growing up in Puerto Rico there was a lot of memories that I had that gave me very nice memories of my childhood.
I wanted to try to make the Arroz con gandules myself but It looks too complicated for me so I decided to learn from my Abuelita. the recipe mentions how the rice should be soaked in water for 3 hours and then after this is when the process to cook starts but this recipe will take about a whole day. when being a kid I remember how my grandmother was very picking about the steps and the amount of product poured into her food it had to be the right measurement. But my grandmother's dessert was adored by many people. I remember my grandfather's sisters and his family all coming over to get their plate of food. I remember sharing this dessert with my grandparent's friends when they come over because my grandmother used to prepare plates and plates of Arroz con dulce and some of my grandparent's friends used to come to play domino and take home with a couple of plates and they also used to eat some in a little cup when playing. I remember people's smiles at receiving Arroz con dulce because my grandmother Arroz con dulce was the best. But also because Like coquito and many more desserts it reminded me of Puerto Rico
best,
