Thanksgiving Dinner 

    Every year we celebrate the holiday of thanksgiving I see it as a year to be thankful for all we lost and all we gained. This year I feel like me and my family has had so much to be grateful for. Overall we got to be thankful for our food our family and our home. When we first learn about thanksgiving we learned it as how the pilgrims made peace with the natives by offering a dinner where both could exchange traditions. Today many of us know this is not true thanksgiving Day is a day connected to numerous assassinations of the native Americans. But today many of us will go to church and be grateful to God for everything we had this past year for me and my family we are grateful for finally having our own apartment after being homeless for 2 years and going from house to house.

    Thanksgiving is about the food and getting family together tonight we all feast as a family maybe dance a little bit and even have a couple of drinks but what reunites is the food today my mom has made the rice the turkey and the salad, I made the pasteles en hoja, My dad has made the pork and my aunt has made the coquito, Sounds like a potluck?. This shows the connection that food will have on a family everybody has been preparing for about a week so everything could be perfect for the holidays coming up after today people will still stay preparing for the holidays and many more dinners like this will come at least in my house, from going Christmas shopping to celebrating many more holidays.
